Are your wax melts vegan friendly?
Yes! Our soy wax melts are 100% vegan friendly and cruelty free. We use pure soy wax and none of our materials are tested on animals.

Are your wax melts made from 100% soy wax?
Yes. We use 100% natural soy wax in every melt we make, with no blends or fillers. Combined with premium fragrance oils, this gives our melts an exceptional scent throw that lasts across multiple burns.

Are soy wax melts better than paraffin wax melts?
This is a question we get asked a lot! Here are the facts. Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource derived from soybean oil, whereas paraffin wax is a petroleum byproduct. Unlike paraffin candles, soy wax melts don't produce soot as there is no direct flame melting the wax. Soy wax is also biodegradable, making it a cleaner choice for your home. At Lovely Melts we chose 100% natural soy wax because we believe it delivers a cleaner, more consistent fragrance experience. That said, both types have their fans and ultimately the quality of the fragrance oils used matters just as much as the wax itself. We invest in both.

It's also worth knowing that not all soy wax is the same. There are many different grades and types of soy wax available to makers, and they vary significantly in quality and performance. We use a premium grade soy wax specifically chosen for its superior scent throw, at a higher cost than many alternatives. It's one of the reasons our customers notice the difference.

What are the strongest wax melts?
Our Fresh and Laundry collection is consistently our most popular and among our strongest performers, with fragrances that really fill a room. Our Fruity collection also has some exceptional scent throws.

It's worth understanding that fragrance strength is influenced by the natural structure of a scent. Fresh, laundry and fruity fragrances tend to have bold top notes that project strongly and fill a room quickly. Floral and perfume inspired scents, by contrast, are built around more complex middle and base notes, which means they perform differently. They're softer, more atmospheric and tend to evolve gradually rather than hit you instantly. This isn't a sign of lower quality, it's simply the nature of how those fragrances are composed.

All our wax melts are made with premium fragrance oils loaded to our very high standards, so you can trust the quality across our entire range. If you're new to wax melts and want the most immediate scent impact, start with our Fresh and Laundry or Fruity collections.

How long do your wax melts last?
Our wax melts are long lasting and provide many hours of fragrance across multiple burns. Because we use 100% natural soy wax combined with premium fragrance oils, you'll get significantly more use from our melts than many others on the market.

How many wax melts should I use at once?
For our Wax Pots, we recommend starting with half a pot and adding more to suit your preference. For our Heart Clamshell Bars, start by breaking off one heart and adjust from there. In more open plan spaces you may want to use a little more wax to fill the space.

What type of wax burner should I use?
Our wax melts work with both tealight burners and electric wax warmers. For the best scent throw we recommend using a tealight burner or a higher wattage electric warmer. Always use an unscented tealight candle.

How do I use a wax melt?
Simply place your wax melt into the dish of your burner, light an unscented tealight underneath or switch on your electric warmer, and enjoy the fragrance as the wax gently melts. When the scent fades, allow the wax to cool and solidify before removing and replacing with a fresh melt.

How do I use wax melts safely?
Always follow these simple safety guidelines when using your wax melts:

Never leave a burning tealight unattended
Keep out of reach of children and pets
Do not move your burner while the wax is hot or the tealight is lit
Place your burner on a stable, heat resistant surface away from draughts
Never add water to your wax melt burner
Use only unscented 2-4 hour tealights
Do not burn for more than 4 hours continuously
Allow to cool completely before handling

Are wax melts safe around pets?
Soy wax itself is generally considered a cleaner, more natural option than paraffin wax. We have many customers who use our wax melts in homes with dogs, cats and other pets without any issues, and we raised our own dogs alongside our products. However every pet is different and we would always recommend checking with your vet if you have any concerns, particularly if your pet has respiratory sensitivities. Never leave a burning tealight unattended around animals.

Do your wax melts vary in appearance?
As all our wax melts are handmade, they may vary very slightly in colour and shape. This is completely normal and has no effect on the quality or scent of the product.

What are the weights of your wax melts?
Our Heart Clamshell Bars are approximately 90 grams and our Wax Pots are approximately 28 grams. As they are handmade, weights may vary very slightly.

Are your products CLP compliant?
Yes. All Lovely Melts products are CLP compliant as required by UK law. Full ingredient information is labelled on every product.

Do you offer Klarna?
Yes. We offer Klarna, Clearpay and PayPal at checkout, alongside all major credit and debit cards. Klarna and Clearpay allow you to spread the cost of your order into instalments. Both are provided by the respective third-party lenders, not by Lovely Melts, and from 15 July 2026 both are regulated by the FCA, meaning you benefit from the same consumer protections as other regulated credit products. Please make sure you are comfortable with the repayment terms before selecting either option. Simply choose your preferred payment method at checkout and follow the steps from there.

Where do you deliver to?
We currently deliver to England, Scotland and Wales. We do not currently deliver to Northern Ireland.

How long will my order take to arrive?
We offer same-day dispatch Monday to Friday on orders placed before 4pm, excluding bank holidays. Orders are sent using Royal Mail tracked services. Delivery times are estimates and cannot be guaranteed once your parcel is with Royal Mail, but the vast majority of orders arrive within 1 to 2 working days.

How much does delivery cost?
Delivery options and costs will be shown at checkout. We offer free delivery on orders over £45.

Can I track my order?
Yes. All orders are sent using Royal Mail tracked services. You will receive tracking information once your order has been dispatched.

What is your returns policy?
Please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order if there is an issue. Items must be returned within 30 days of delivery in their original condition. Return postage costs are the responsibility of the buyer. For full details please see our Returns and Refund Policy.
